About Us

Second Baptist is a church within the Southern Baptist Convention. We are locally associated with the Western Baptist Association of the Baptist Convention of Maryland & Delaware. Located in historic Cumberland, Maryland we are situated snugly within the Appalachian Mountains and surrounded by the beauty of our Lord's creation. Our mission is to be faithful disciples of Jesus Christ and to make disciples of all nations as our Lord instructed. We do this through prayer, teaching, worship, service, and missions, as taught in the Holy Scriptures, our only inerrant and infallible source of authority in all things pertaining to life and godliness.
